The old château was built on the foundations of an early13th-century Romanesque church. In the mid-15thcentury , the church was ravaged by fire and earthquake. A Gothic church was built on its ruins between 1497 and 1516, then fortified and gradually transformed into a fort to face the Ottoman invasions in the second half of the 16thcentury . This building, which has not been extensively restored, exudes a real charm.
