The Alliance française in Banská Bystrica offers French and Slovak language courses for foreigners. It is also thanks to its cultural program that the Alliance is well known in the city and the region. It offers about fifty events per year (concerts, films, cooking workshops, exhibitions, thematic evenings, etc.). It regularly organizes hikes in the nearby mountains. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the French people of the region, and sometimes even the French ambassador, who does not hesitate to put on his sports shoes.
