To the northeast of the square, several scattered buildings are actually the remains of a 15th century citadel. To the right of the citadel, the former town hall, which belonged to the miner's chief, dates from the 15th century, the church of the Ascension of the Virgin, Romanesque in style in its 13th century foundations, but Gothic in its 14th century extension, and its Gothic wooden altar signed Pavel de Levoča. Behind, a second church dedicated to the Holy Cross and the house of King Matthias.
