Donovaly is one of the highest villages in Slovakia (988 m). It was created at the beginning of the 18th century as an administrative centre for coal colonies. Today, it is a renowned tourist resort. The Kamzík residence is located in this resort in a pleasant mountainous environment overlooking the Low Tatras. The building is located near the Fun Fun children's ski park and the ski slopes.
