This natural history museum presents the nature of the northwestern part of Slovakia, including all the animals living in the Orava, Kysuce Liptov and Turiec regions. This museum dedicated to the work of Andrej Kmet' has a rich and interesting collection of more than 500,000 pieces. Andrej Kmet' (1841-1908) was a local scientist specialising in botany, geology and archaeology. He is buried in Martin National Cemetery.
