Through historical objects, photographs and archival documents, it presents important events and personalities, as well as the rich economic, national, cultural and sporting heritage of Liptovský Mikuláš. Seven centuries of literary history are recounted. The museum has a documentary collection of 12,000 volumes and pays tribute to the life of the romantic poet Janko Král', a native of the city. The Janko Gallery Kráľ offers temporary exhibitions.
