Founded in 1955, the P.M. Bohúňa Gallery is the country's third art gallery. Divided into 4 periods, the permanent exhibitions feature works of art from the Middle Ages, including fine local wooden altars in Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. The 19thcentury is represented by a series of portraits by the painter Bohúňa, and the 20thcentury by a selection of Slovak pictorial movements from this period.
