Described as one of the most beautiful synagogues in Central Europe, it has not been in use since the extermination of Slovakia's Jews during the Second World War. Built in 1846, it was damaged by fire in 1878 and 1904. Renovated in 1906, it features a classical-style mosaic with Art Nouveau elements. Tours are available outside the summer months, by appointment by telephone.
