KOLOMAN SOKOL EXHIBITION
The Pongrácovská manor house from the 15th century is the oldest secular building in Liptovský Mikuláš. In 1713, this historical monument hosted the interrogation of Juraj Jánošík. Today, it is the seat of the Koloman Sokol Centre. This exhibition centre is dedicated to the works of this major contemporary Slovak 20th century artist (graphic artist, painter and sculptor). Originally from Liptovský Mikuláš, he taught in Bratislava and Mexico City before moving to the United States, where he died in 2003. His art is very inspired by German expressionism.
