One of the best restaurants in Košice, the Colonial is located at the back of a courtyard that can be accessed from the main square. In cosy and refined interiors, the chef offers international gastronomic specialities at prices above the city average but not excessive in view of the quality. Pork medallions with mushroom and grilled onion sauce or salmon steaks among others. The setting is pretty and, in summer, it is possible to enjoy a terrace. However, the weakness of the wine list is to be deplored.

J'ai eu une expérience négative avec cet établissement car j'ai l'impression d'avoir été pris comme pigeon. En effet, l'établissement est chic, la nourriture correcte quoique relativement chère pour la Slovaquie, le personnel est anglophone. MAIS au moment de la facture, tous les verres d'alcool (Prosecco et vin rouge slovaque) ont été facturés en quantité double. Quand j'ai demandé des explications, la serveuse m'a dit que c'était des verres doubles donc 1 verre est facturé comme 2 verres. Il est vrai que les verres étaient excessivement remplis (d'ailleurs trop à notre goût), mais la serveuse ne nous a jamais demandé si on voulait un verre simple ou double! Nous avons donc payé, mais à contrecoeur. Je ne retournerai pas dans ce restaurant.
