In the centre of the city, next to the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth, the chapel that has become the Church of St. Michael, with a single nave, is a fine example of Gothic style. Built in the middle of the 14th century, it was intended for ceremonies concerning the dead, the adjacent cemetery was replaced by a park after its dismantling in 1771. During the Reformation, it was the only place of Catholic worship. The chapel received the title of church in 2006, after a final renovation.
