A massive aristocratic palace in Empire style dating from the 19th century. It belonged to Count Antal Forgács, head of the imperial civil administration of Košice after the failure of the Hungarian revolution of 1848. It then housed the Košice police before becoming a state scientific library. Today, among other things, incunabula (first printed books from the 15th century) are preserved, the oldest of which date back to the 16th century.
