Next to the Catholic Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Prešov, stands the Evangelical Church of the Holy Trinity. Built between 1642 and 1647 to meet the expectations of the Hungarian Protestants of Prešov, it is one of the few evangelical temples in Slovakia built during the Reformation. Its austere exterior and modest interior decoration corresponded exactly to Protestant ideals. Underneath the church is a crypt where four bodies are buried.
