It is located in the former Gymnazium Piariste, the place where Jews were rounded up during the Second World War before being deported to the death camps. This former high school is now the city's cultural center. As well as providing information on excursions into the nearby hills, it also houses exhibitions, including one on the film The Lark's Mirror(Obchod na korze), shot in 1965 and awarded the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 1966.
