Crossing the Gulf is a trip we highly recommend! A unique atmosphere reigns throughout the crossing in the midst of a grandiose setting. Embarkation takes place from the Port de l'Escale, and you need to arrive one hour before the ferry departs to buy your tickets. Surprisingly, the ferry can sometimes leave early, so it's best to avoid showing up at the last minute. Please note that the ferry is more or less at a standstill from mid-July to the end of August due to rough seas (khamsin), and completely at a standstill on public holidays.
