Fabulous day tour of Reykjanes Peninsula. Our tour guide, Alaina, was knowledgeable and enthusiastically shared information and answered questions. The beauty of Kleifarvtn Lake was our first indication that this tour had much to offer. On to Sultin Geothermal Fields where steamy, bubbling, and sulfuric smells awaited us. This is nature reminding us of the power within the earth. All the while our tour guide informed us of geographic wonders with awe and pride of Iceland. As our tour progressed, we made our way to the Blue Lagoon, a sought-after geothermal spa. It was a soothing experience floating and bobbing in hot water - not unbearably hot- and relaxing with drink in hand. As we continue our travels we come to a place where the sea meets rock formations, and I mean breath-taking beauty. This is the location of the first lighthouse in Iceland. Our curiosity peaked as we drove to the Bridge Between Continents. The bridge connects the North American and Eurasiantectonic plates. How fascinating. Throughout the entire tour, Alaina, our guide shared information and made our experience of lava fields covered with moss, geothermal fields, mud-pools, rock formations, and mineral rich waters of Blue Lagoon, and more, a memory of the impressive landscape not to be forgotten. All-in-all, Travelling Iceland tour company comes highly recommended. Thank you!!!!
