Nice museum by the lake with temporary exhibitions throughout the year
This pretty museum on the shores of Lake Tjörnin (great views from its windows) offers an overview of Iceland's art scene in the 19th and 20th centuries. Works by numerous landscape painters influenced by the Impressionists are on display. Temporary exhibitions are also held throughout the year. There's also a cafeteria and a well-stocked gift store. Admission is free for children under 18, making this a great family outing!

There's a fair amount to see, can't say most grabbed me. Awesome that this place exists however to bring together art from across Iceland
The best at Reykjavík and around
