Seems to be almost abandoned during winter time. Just 2 showers/toilets for the whole site.

The campsite was very busy with stationary caravans but they had space for us. Booking have to be made via app Parka. Toilets were clean and warm, there were light on the territory so it's safe to walk. The kitchen was a bit messy and dirty.

Nous avons dormi à ce camping avec notre van en fevr 2024. Ça s'est très bien passé. Il fait payer par internet sur le site.

Alors oui certes il était sale mais au moins il est ouvert et facile à trouver

We went during the winter with a campervan.

The access is easy, there’s electricity plugs and showers are decent (only has room for one person at a time).

Kitchen facilities were not usable because they don’t even have a door and were filled with snow inside.

No recomiendo este camping, pero por la zona no encontrabamos más opciones. Y además fue caro, el precio era de 40,37€ (camper de 3 personas). La cocina abierta en invierno hace mucho frio y de todo lo que había no funcionaba nada (microondas, fuego...). Los primeros baños que encuentras están sin agua, por lo que no puedes tirar de la cadena. Si que hay en otro edificio unos baños pero no hay calefacción por lo que no nos pudimos duchar.

Todo muy bien, quizá calefacción en la zona de comida, por lo demás, estaba muy sucio.

El peor camping en el que he estado ademas de el mas caro

The only thing that was good at this campsite was the location. It's a mess, dirty and old bathrooms. The "kitchen" is dirty and open, so in wintertime not a recommendation. And to make things worse, the price was the highest of all the campsites we have seen during our trip. We did not feel like driving any further in the dark, otherwise we would not have stayed here.

Not really good campsite, just shower for men and one for women, which isn't enough for 100? people, no place like a bathroom for shaving, no drying facility, shelter with kitchen is really dirty and gas stove provided does not work. - extremely expensive but NO good service at all. This makes me really angry. 1400 ISK per person isn't cheap eather. Recommend campsite in Sellfoss. Seams to be better according to other travelers.

This campsite has 1 toilet and 1 shower (each gender) for the whole campsite. As you can see from the pictures, is not clean at all. The toilets were evidently not have been cleaned for days. Same thing for the "common area/kitchen". Bins were overflowing with rubbish, and the whole area was dirty. It's also open and not warmed up which it may be a nice idea for the summer but in winter it's simply unpractical. Staying in the common area in winter is simply impossible. So nice to see that owner/manager thought to install a funny picture over the urinal but not to install a couple of shelves or hanger or a bench where to place your stuff during shower. Not even a chair.
Not a pleasant stay at all. Go elsewhere

Decent campsite. Facilities are a little “worn out.” Great thing was that there was hot water for showering and it was a relief in the cold weather. The common area for washing and eating is not very clean. Probably due to tourists not clearing up after themselves. Overall, I’ll still recommend coming here if you need a good night sleep and a good hot shower.

On our first night in Iceland, we camped here since we left the Hot Spring quite late, and we needed a place to rest and shower ASAP. You can reserve your spot online, and once you get to the campsite, I will let you know it’s hard to find the spot since it’s dark outside. For example, we didn’t know where the area was, like area A-C.

There is a small bathroom/restroom area to the side of the front building. Then, a tiny community-like setting for a kitchen with picnic tables is set up. There are pots and pans that you can use, and a burner to use to cook food as well.

This campsite was an okay spot to stay for the night. No frills. As essential as you can get and get your shower and restroom needs :)

Excelente ubicación si estás disfrutando la Islandia del Oeste, o bien estás empezando tu viaje en el país. Bastante establecimientos cercas, una ciudad muy bonita e incluso un geyser a pocos metros de acá que cuesta 400 isk la entrada (aprox) y tienen una torta local muy buena como a 500isk cocinada con el vapor del geyser

Pros: muy fácil reservar en línea con Parka. (2000isk/persona)
- Bastante espacioso para muchas Vans y campers
- los estacionamientos están rotulados y bien identificados, no parece una zona abandonada, lo que te da una buena privacidad entre un camper y otro (15mts de distancia) lo que es muy bueno.
- agua caliente incluida, tanto para el área de cocina y las duchas, acceso ilimitado.
- los baños tenían calefacción y había una antecámara con calefaccion que te permite esperar adentro sin tener que sufrir el clima, sobre todo en invierno.
- área de cocina medio equipada con lo que ven en la foto, el tanque tiene un medio truco para hacerlo funcionar.

- no hay hora de cierre, entonces podes llegar a las 12am si gustas pero siempre respetando a los demás campers.
- no hay cierre de cocina o baños lo que te permite acceso permanente.
- Hay gatos para acariciar y saludar.

cons: un baño para dama y un baño para caballeros.
- Un poco más de limpieza no estaría mal.
-precio ok para las instalaciones pero tienen lo necesario.

En mi opinión, creo que el local tiene un gran potencial que se podría aprovechar aún más. Me imagino que inicialmente fue un camping pequeño así como el turismo ha venido creciendo la demanda de instalaciones tambien. Una buena inversión le daría una visibilidad mucho más grande de la que ya tiene, y seguro un aumento en su clientela.

Está bastante cerca de las hot springs entonces es un muy buen punto de partida.
Podría decir que no es el mejor de Islandia relación calidad precio, pero sin duda no es el peor. Tiene lo justo para un turista ya un poco habituado con Islandia y sus camping sites.
Hay un número telefónico para cualquier emergencia escrito en la antecámara de los baños, útil por si pasa cualquier emergencia a reportar.

Muy bonito lugar, no parece siniestro como muchos otros camping jeje

Aún así pudimos ver auroras boreales.

Good campground but it was full. They got us in an emergency site because they were full. The facilities were generally clean except the community kitchen. This is probably because of campers who don’t clean up after themselves, not the operators. Cool cats running around too :)

Rude staff, will absolutely never return here.

Out of the 3 times my wife and I have traveled to Iceland, this has been the only negative experience we've ever had.

We arrived late at night on Saturday October 7th 2023 and parked for the night, as there was nobody in the rental office to pay for the night. We have often arrived late and would simply pay in the morning, before leaving.

We were woke up to an older male, with grey hair at the side of our campervan, who opened out side door and starting yelling at us, because we were parked on the grass. Every camp site we had even to, in our 3 years of travel are all grass and that's where you park.

My wife starting trying to calm him down by offering an apology and said we could move. He continued to yell at us about being on the grass and than said for us to "pay and leave right now".

Once I had got fully dressed and into a jacket, I proceeded to the rental office to pay. When I walked in, I again said that I was sorry for not realizing you couldn't park on the grass at this particular campsite, as we always had at other sites. This older male sitting at the desk replied with "it's because you are a stupid man, pay now and leave".

The site was large and in a nice location, I'll for sure say that. The bathrooms were at the time not at all clean.. shower was also not clean. The common area up front had overflowing recycling bins and garbage bins. The kitchen sink area, only cold water (which is fine I guess).

The main problem was the extremely rude older male working there. Would never return, because of his behavior. Not acceptable that he opened our camper side door and lost his mind about something that could have been explained so many different ways. Something that was in no way, something to yell over, let alone call me a "stupid man" over. Unacceptable.

Netter Campingplatz mit toller Umgebung. Leider ist der Küchebereich und Essensraum zwar überdacht und weitestgehend windgeschützt, aber nicht beheizt und auch nicht ganz geschlossen.

The campground is clean and quite large, but the number of bathrooms and showers is too few — given how many campers can be accommodated.

Průměrný kemp ale čistý, pěkný, nenadchne ale ani neurazí, dobrá volba když jste někde poblíž.

Onvriendelijke bazin. Open keuken: koud. Campervan site ver van douche en wc. In vergelijking met de andere campings in Ijsland is dit de minste dat we hebben gedaan tijdens onze 2 weken trip. Geen goede faciliteiten. Als je de kans hebt zou ik hier niet overnachten.

Camping correct.
1 seule douche (eau chaude) et 1 wc par genre (h/f). Style algeco. Un peu léger lorsqu'on voit le nombre de campers qui circulent.
Avantage : un coin cuisine couvert avec les équipements utiles.

Le camping est très accueillant. Il propose toutes les infos touristiques, douche et WC. Il est en plein centre ville, et même si j'ai dormi sous tente le long de la route, je n'ai entendu aucun bruit.
Je recommande ce camping aussi pour sa proximité avec Reykjadalur qui est des sources d'eaux chaudes proches du camping: le top de se baigner dans une eau naturelle à 30 °C en pleine montagne!
