Located in the heart of Selfoss, in the south of the country, this elegant hotel is nestled in a beautiful concrete and glass building, which rises up on the banks of the Ölfusá river and also offers a breathtaking view of the Ingólfsfjall mountain. It houses no fewer than 139 rooms, all of which are modern and of a high standard. Each room is spacious and offers all the comforts you need, including quality bedding, satellite TV, broadband connection, hairdryer and safe. The hotel is ideal for a stopover during your trip to the south of the country, especially if you're traveling with a group or family. In addition, the Selfoss hotel has its own restaurant, the Riverside, a "panoramic" restaurant that can seat up to 200 people and offers a three-course chef's menu, an à la carte menu and a buffet of international cuisine. The cuisine, both Icelandic and international, is gourmet and prepared with mostly local and seasonal ingredients (meat, seafood and a variety of vegetables). Vegetarian and even gluten-free options are available to satisfy every stomach. The all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast is also particularly excellent. There's also a bar where you can round off the day with a drink during daily happy hours. Finally, a delightful spa completes the hotel's offer. It is reputed to be one of the best in South Iceland. You can relax in a traditional Icelandic steam bath, enjoy the sauna and various relaxation showers before taking a nap in one of the comfortable armchairs in the relaxation room, by the sizzling fireplace. Treatments such as massages and treatments are also available on request. You're sure to emerge refreshed and rested. The hotel also owes its reputation to its attentive staff. Le restaurant sert une cuisine sous forme de buffet et un menu raffiné. J'ai opté pour le buffet et je n'ai pas été déçu. Beaucoup de viandes au choix comme le steak et l'agneau. Beaucoup de pâtes, fruits, soupes et desserts au choix. Ma chambre était extrêmement chaude, étant donné que j'étais en Islande. La salle de bain n'avait pas d'étagère pour les articles de toilette, j'ai donc dû les laisser dans la douche. Certaines parties de l'hôtel sont un peu défraîchies, comme certains rebords de fenêtre. Mais dans l'ensemble, c'est un endroit agréable, avec un personnel amical.
Je recommanderais de réserver une chambre avec vue sur la rivière. Le coucher de soleil a l'air incroyable.
Le personnel et son restaurant étaient tous les deux bons, car ils ont réussi à préparer notre petit-déjeuner le matin. Les environs de l'hôtel étaient fascinants.
Grandes chambres bien tenues. Un excellent buffet petit déjeuner. Dîner également.
