Hotel Ranga is a luxury hotel in the south of the country. It's one of the few 4-star hotels in this part of Iceland - a distinction that's amply justified. The building, all in wood, is superb and warm. The rooms are divided between the main building and small individual chalets. Each is uniquely decorated, combining a chic winter chalet ambience with a mix of country and more contemporary furnishings. The most luxurious suites offer private verandas and even a private whirlpool bath. The décor is Scandinavian-inspired in the rooms, and the common areas are also very pleasant, decorated with local works of art carefully chosen by Friðrik Pálsson, the owner.
