Very low conditions, but not the worst camp in the world. At least is open during winter and the staff did was helpfull.

Worst out of the 15 campsites I've seen in Iceland. Toilets are dirty and the shower really stinks. No water in the sinks outside, and apparently no place where to refill water tanks. No kitchen. You are basically paying for the parking.

Apart from this, I don't like the fact that cars and buses, as well as the shiny restaurant (or whatever that is) get to be so close to the waterfall. I've read comments about the "unbeatable position", but honestly to me this just looks like polluting a beautiful natural spot.

The location is nice but besides that, the wc are so dirty, the facilities are so poor, they don’t have a lot of plugs

We really can’t complain if we get to camp with a view like this

You’re basically paying for a parking lot with this campsite. There’s a lingering urine smell in the men’s WC. I’m glad it was just a night. Anything more would be dreadful. Only the location is great as you’re right next to the Skogafoss.

Not really a campsite. You park on the public parking lot of the waterfall. The. showers did not work and the washrooms were quite dirty and smelly. They charge you 1800 ISK for that!

Perfect views around
Good place to spend the night

My friends and I camped here for the night and parked next to the restroom/bathroom area. Once you paid for camping for the night, the restroom fees are included in your camping fee; however, if you want to shower, it is another fee you must pay. All the basic things you need are here, such as restroom use!

A bare bones campground - in winter season, the field is roped off and you just park in the gravel parking lot. The bathrooms are open, as are the showers and outdoor dish washing station with 2 separate sinks. They do have a hose for refilling water jugs. The caretaker comes by in the evening, maybe 7-9pm, to take out the trash and clean the bathrooms. When we arrived around 5pm, there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms and they were pretty gross; the caretaker refilled the TP and cleaned them up a bit. My recommendation is to park pretty far away from the road in and out, because other vans arriving on the gravel makes a lot of noise.

The worse campsite in our entire trip in Iceland! Nasty restrooms and showers, the shower fee is such a joke, and beware: no coins = no shower! It’s coin operated and 400 ISK for 5 minutes (even though you pay a campsite fee already).
This is a parking lot, not a campsite! I’d say this is just a tourist trap!!
The view of the falls is the only positive thing!
Stay away if you can!

We have been camping on the island for 11 days, and this is the first place that does NOT include a shower with your camping fee. Is 400 ISK a lot? No…BUT the fact that this is one of the most frequently visited campsite and does not include that, is crazy. Should you see Skogarfoss? Yes! Should you stay here? Only if you’re desperate.

Worst camping we did in 3 weeks in Iceland. The campsite is located in the same parking as visitors as it's in front of the waterfall. Which means you are in the middle of tourist bus, and crowd. Toilets are the same for tourists and camping so there are disgusting. We paid 3600 ISK for 1 night for 2 people. The shower is not included. You have to pay 400ISK for 5 min of shower.
Run away from this place.

Stayed here overnight to wake up to skogarfoss and continue around the ring road. The site itself has plenty of parking for vans. The toilets were nice enough too,

Location can't be beat. The bathrooms were clean when I went. Plenty of parking. Didn't have the opportunity to use the shower, but it looked clean too.
Came back to remove 1 star because I've since stayed at 2 other campsites that were far nicer. Skogar lacks an indoor space to change phones, relax, etc. Seems like most other places have wifi, indoor areas, and are better lit. This place was pitch black at night.

Von einem richtigen Campingplatz

Rating is for location!!! It really didn’t have facilities for campers, just sinks for washing dishes and just public restrooms; it was more just a place to camp in a parking lot of an incredibly popular waterfall. I wish the price wasn’t as much for what you get from a facility perspective but it’s truly all about location! It was sweet being at the base of Skogafoss and I regret not waking up earlier to hike the trail to get ahead of the tourist as the tourist buses still came early in the day. Still such a great site and we really enjoyed our time being present to Skogafoss as we stayed here!

Horrible. You have to pay for 5min of shower and all the time, actually, is cold water. The waterfall is pretty, but i don't recommend staying here at all. You can sleep in other camping and come to skogafoss later.
