Address offering a beautiful view of the Skaftafellsjökull, the Hafrafell ridges and the Svinafellsjökull glacier tongue.
Another viewpoint not to be missed is Sjónarnípa, to which several marked trails lead. From here, you can see the Skaftafellsjökull, a glacier rippled with deep crevasses and blackened with rocky debris. To the east, you can see the jagged ridges of Hafrafell, the white mass of Öræfajökull and, further down, the front of the Svinafellsjökull ice tongue. The view from the belvedere is breathtaking, best enjoyed in good weather, of course. A path allows to go down to the foot of Skaftafellsjökull.
