A great hike to explore the peaks of Skaftafell and discover spectacular views.
Want to reach the top? It is possible to climb to Sjónarsker where you will discover a simply grandiose viewpoint, then to Skerhóll (526 m) and/or to the viewpoints of Fremrihnaukur (610 m) and Nyrðrihnaukur (706 m). From the latter, you can climb to the top of Kristínártindar (1,126 m), which overlooks Skaftafellsheiði, by following the very steep ridge. Behind it is Skarðatindur (1,385 m). This magnificent hike will take you 6-7 hours, so bring a picnic to enjoy the moment and comfort after such an effort!
