Excursion to discover a glacier, possibility of discovering a spectacular ice cave under the cap in winter.
Thor, a friendly local guide, will happily take you on an unforgettable few-hour tour of Breiðamerkurjökull. This is one of the best places in Iceland to see how the landscape has changed over the last 100 years, as the glacier here retreats by around 100 m per year. Don't forget to bring a drink and a snack. In winter, you can also discover a spectacular ice cave beneath the cap. The meeting point is opposite the Jökulsárlón café. A relatively easy hike, but beware of crevasses. Get your crampons!
