A remarkable lagoon, in which the Breiðamerkurjökull breaks up into icebergs, place of shooting(Tomb Raider, James Bond).
Jökulsárlón is a lagoon in which the Breiðamerkurjökull, a glacial tongue that came out of the Vatnajökull, breaks up into icebergs, all glittering with blue reflections. One has the impression, suddenly, of being transported to Greenland. No wonder it has been used as a film location(Tomb Raider, James Bond...).
A nice walk consists in going along the lake, preferably by its eastern bank, until the glacier. You can also go on the other side of the road 1, on the beach. Seals can often be seen swimming among these huge blocks of ice.

Nous avons découvert et adoré cet endroit magnifique. Le temps d'une petite balade en bateau entouré de phoque, le soleil est sorti et a fait de magnifiques reflets sur les icebergs. Nous déplaçant en camping, nous avons profiter d'une petite plage toute proche et très au calme pour passer la nuit et pour poursuivre cette experience. Les enfants ont adoré jouer avec les icebergs echoués et voir les phoques. Incroyable souvenir pour tous garanti!
