This nature reserve just outside of Höfn is very popular with hikers who like to combine walking with bird watching. You can hike along the coastline and enjoy the sea spray, or you may prefer to hike inland from Lake Óslandstjörn to see the wildlife. The Arctic tern is very present here in summer, before returning to Antarctica in winter. This reserve is accessible on foot via an isthmus, a strip of land between two seas, near the port of Höfn.
