LANGABÚÐ MUSEUM AND CULTURAL CENTRE
Museum with a room dedicated to the works of the sculptor Rikarður Jónsson and exhibition dedicated to folklore, history and crafts.
Langabúd, "the long shop", is one of the oldest commercial buildings in Iceland, partly built in 1790. Inside, in addition to a pleasant café, there is a room dedicated to the works of the sculptor Rikarður Jónsson, who died in 1977, and to whom we owe some very beautiful portraits, notably that of Eysteinn Jónsson, a former minister born in Djúpivogur. Another exhibition is dedicated to the folklore, history and crafts of the region.
