Like Snæfellsjökull, the natural pyramid of Mount Búlandstindur (1,069 m) is said to be one of the world's important spiritual points. From the top of this mountain, the pagan idols are said to have been thrown away when the country was converted to Christianity. In Teigarhorn, at the foot of Mount Búlandastinður, is one of the world's largest deposits of zeolite (a complex silicate of volcanic origin). Today, the extraction of this crystal is forbidden (except for the family living on the farm of Teigarhorn) and the mine had to close.
