HOUSE OF GUNNAR GUNARSSON (GUNNARSSTOFNUN)
Former house of Gunnar Gunarsson, to better know his life and his work, temporary exhibitions are organized there.
This beautiful black stone house was the home of the writer Gunnar Gunarsson (1889-1975). Built in 1939 on his return from Denmark, it presents his life and work as well as temporary exhibitions. At the foot of the house, a major archaeological site was discovered in 2000, that of an ancient Christian monastery from the 16th century (1494-1563). Excavations continue every summer. Good restaurant in the basement of the house with Icelandic specialties.
