A small fjord, which hosted a small sedentary population, located north of Seyðisfjörður.
Loðmundarfjörður is a small fjord 6-7 km long, located north of Seyðisfjörður. Now abandoned, Loðmundarfjörður used to be home to a small sedentary population. Near one of the now abandoned farms, Stakkahlíð, you can see large boulders dotting the sandy plain, the result of the patient work of glaciers. A mountain path - through the Hjálmárdalsheiði moor - allows for a relatively easy 6-7 hour hike between Seyðisfjörður and Loðmundarfjörður. But don't forget to ask for information.
