Möðruvellur, an ancient church in the Eyjafjörður with an altar in th century alabaster. It was once the farm of Guðmundur Eyjólfsson, one of Iceland's most powerful clan leaders at the time of sagas. He had up to 120 cows, and over 100 sharecroppers worked for him.

Hríshóll Farm, one of the country's most productive dairy farms.

Melgerðismelar, Iceland regional horse breeding centre and field of racing.

Grund, a church of the turn of the century, located in one of the country's oldest birch woods.

Jólagarðurinn is Christmas all year round. In Iceland, there is not only one Father Christmas, but thirteen. They're called Jólasveinar. According to legend, they were the sons of a troll woman, Giant Grýla. Thirteen days before Christmas night, the boys go down the evening of the highlands, each in turn, to visit the farms and villages by playing the towers to the inhabitants. Each has a nickname indicating their preference: lécheur of spoons, candles, etc.

La ferme musée de Laufas, pas très loin d' Akureyri permet de voir comment vivant les fermiers islandais au siècle dernier. On ne voit pas la ferme de la route car elle est semi-enterrée du côté de la route et la toiture est recouverte d'herbe
