In the northern part of the rocks, near Lónsgil and Hundatjörn, a water pond took the name of a deacon of Myrká who drowned here. Myrká is the old location of a church. Situated inside the land in the Hörgárdalur valley, it is the framework of the legend of the deacon of Myrká, one of the best known on ghosts in Iceland. The big stone of the cemetery of the church could be the tomb of the pastor who returned from the kingdom of the dead to search for his fiancée.
