Located in a quiet street, this guesthouse, most of whose 39 rooms have just been renovated, is distinguished by the resolutely and deliberately vintage decoration of its living rooms. The whole, sometimes a little sad but clean, is enhanced by the presence of works by the painter Hulda Vilhjálmsdóttir. The restaurant offers an original cuisine as the Moroccan chef combines Icelandic and North African flavours and ingredients.

We stayed for 1 night in this lovely and amazing village and hotel Siglunes was just great; don’t get biased by the external building appearance and worthwhile to enjoy the moroccan dishes for dinner.

Roads website showed all the roads are closed to Siglufjordur but the manager Halfdan does not care. This hotel is also the most expensive out of 2 week trip in Iceland. Breakfast has to be paid separately for 2500 Isk. I would not recommend this hotel the customer service is terrible.

Was there is the off-season, November. Except for a VERY brief check-in and dinner (only one night of two night stay, restaurant closed the second night), no staff at all. We and two other guests stayed in an empty building. The in-house restaurant was good but very overpriced for the meal we got. Also had to pay for breakfast which was offered at a bakery around the corner. We have stayred in 9 different hotels over two visits to Iceland, never paid for breakfast anywhere else.

beds are very comfortable, and the rooms were spotless.
hotel has a very cool retro vibe to it, cozy bar, and a larger restaurant area with extremely good food available.
breakfast wasn't available in the morning since we were the only guests during a low season, but we were directed by the staff to a great bakery that was within short walking distance of the hotel.
