A trail located on the northern shore of the bay, a large coastal expanse of orange-red sand as its name suggests in Icelandic
Track 614 leads to Rauðasandur which is a dead end. Located on the northern shore of Breiðafjörður Bay, Rauðasandur is a large coastal expanse of orange-red sand, as its name suggests in Icelandic. Basalt columns form a raised causeway along the beach. This beach is surely one of the most beautiful in Iceland, the golden reflections of the sand contrast with the azure beauty of the sea. A path leads to Látrabjarg and another, leading to a small nature reserve, starts from the beautiful church of Saurbær.
