Skarðsvík is a lovely beach of blond sand (one of the only one of the country) stuck between rocks and cliffs of deep black. If you have a little luck and the snowy volcano deign to show itself… the picture becomes fabulous. Although the trail is in poor condition, you can continue the road to admire the birds of the Svörtuloft cliff or turn east to explore the Vatnsborg crater.
