ÖNDVERÐARNES AND SKARDSVIK
A lovely little beach with blonde sand, wedged between black rocks and cliffs in Snæfellsjökull
The road to Öndverðarnes is passable, but not paved. On the way, Skarðsvík is a lovely little beach with white sand (one of the only ones in the country), sandwiched between rocks and black cliffs. If you are lucky and if the snow-covered volcano deigns to show itself, the picture becomes fabulous. Öndverðarnes is the westernmost point of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. To the south, the black cliffs of Svörtuloft are an excellent place to watch the waves.
