Hotel Varmaland opened in 2019 after an extensive renovation and refurbishment of the Varmaland Housing Academy, designed by Guðjón Samúelsson and originally built in 1946. During the renovation, the history of the place was mixed with a comfortable and modern design, so that it has become a stylish hotel in the heart of Borgarfjörður. The 60 rooms are Scandinavian in style, where simplicity and comfort go hand in hand. On the top floor, the Calor restaurant offers a 360° panoramic view and tasty local dishes.

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was a good size, sound didn't travel much, breakfast was very good. Neat hotel with lots of space to spread out.

Beautiful and fantastic hotel! Our favorite place we stayed in Iceland. Wonderful location. The dinner on the top floor restaurant with panoramic views was the best meal we had in Iceland! We were given a free upgrade to a bigger room at no charge. Breakfast was perfect. Can't recommend this place enough! Value is second to none.

En fait, deux critiques s'imposent ici : le dîner était excellent, le buffet du petit-déjeuner était très bon, mais le matelas de la chambre était trop mou, la douche/toilettes étaient très petites, le lavabo ressemblait presque à un bol d'oiseau et la douche était démodée. rideau pour séparer la douche afin que les toilettes restent sèches. Sinon, chambres modernes même avec une machine à café (à capsules), bien entretenues et dans un paysage magnifique, mais éloignées des autres restaurants et sites touristiques. Il y a des serres pour cultiver des légumes à proximité, auxquelles vous pouvez accéder à pied.
