Hotel Varmaland opened in 2019 after an extensive renovation and refurbishment of the Varmaland Housing Academy, designed by Guðjón Samúelsson and originally built in 1946. During the renovation, the history of the place was mixed with a comfortable and modern design, so that it has become a stylish hotel in the heart of Borgarfjörður. The 60 rooms are Scandinavian in style, where simplicity and comfort go hand in hand. On the top floor, the Calor restaurant offers a 360° panoramic view and tasty local dishes.

Il n'y a pas non plus de ventilateur ni de fenêtre dans la salle de bain pour faciliter le processus de séchage.
Il n'y a pas non plus de poignées ou quoi que ce soit pour la sécurité avec un sol mouillé.
La chambre était bruyante à cause des voisins qui entraient et sortaient de leurs chambres et se déplaçaient. Chaque fois qu'ils fermaient une porte, le hall tremblait.
