A historic site in the 9th arrondissement. Inaugurated in 1872, this station was used as a set for the filming of Mayerling (1967), starring Catherine Deneuve, James Mason and Omar Sharif. In 1978, the original building, severely damaged during the last war, was destroyed and rebuilt following a monumental construction project. The modern architectural edifice, with its gleaming bay windows, now welcomes passengers and marks the district. This regional station serves north-western Vienna and the Waldviertel.
