Okay, it's not gastronomy, but this snack restaurant near the market is an institution for Viennese night owls. The "Countess of the Naschmarkt" is open almost all night long! It's retro and kitschy, with small tables and candles dripping on the candles that have been sinking . The dishes are not distinguished by their refinement or their flavour, and it is more expensive than elsewhere. But the croque-monsieur/frite is enough to satisfy hungry partygoers at night. Breakfasts bring tired night owls together. Local atmosphere.

This restaurant is a tourist trap.
It looks friendly, offering a priori to typical Viennese menus. But do not trust...

We took:
- a Greek salad (salad, a quarter of tomatoes, feta) for €8.80. The salad bathed in a sort of small milk that could have come from feta. It did not have any taste strictly. The salad either elsewhere.
- a typical Viennese: a schnitzel, for €19.90. It was only one vulgar breaded veal cutlets, uninteresting, served with potatoes cooked for water (and a little parsley) and a jam resembling bilberry.

- we did not order bread, but we paid €5.20 for two circular bread rolls and two pieces of butter. It must be said that it was hot... must justify the price.

- we ordered plain water, and it is arrival bottle of 33cl for €2.90. It is probably of our fault, it is always necessary to say tap water...

On the whole, €41.70 for a meal not to be redone.

Leaving, we saw a pretty puppy that have been eating in dishes from the restaurant. I hope that they wash their crockery.
