May in Vienne sees the opening of the summer festival, with entertainment and the installation of guinguettes along the canal.
This is one of the charms of summertime Vienne. From May until the first "real" cold spells arrive, guinguettes and cafés take over the banks of the Danube Canal. During the five months of the summer season, a new convivial and often festive public space unfolds along the banks, lined with murals that contribute to the cultural richness of this romantic and trendy environment. Numerous events are organized in parallel throughout the summer.
