A charming public space that once housed the Währing cemetery.
Two of Vienna's most famous composers can be honored in the Währinger Schubertpark, a small, quiet park in the 18th district, a charming public space that once housed the Währing Cemetery. Schubert and Beethoven were buried here. Their remains were later transferred to the "Musicians' Square", the Viennese pantheon of the Zentralfriedhof (central cemetery). Even today, however, one can visit their original tombstones.
