These red-brick towers, which could hold 90,000 gas, radiate a very special atmosphere.

The gasometer adventure dates back to 1899, when engineer Theodor Hermann finished building these two huge towers that could hold 90,000 m3 of gas. Abandoned in 1986, these red brick towers, which spread a very special atmosphere, were used as a setting for James Bond. They were renovated in 2001 with the participation of the French architect Jean Nouvel (see the leaning glass and metal building facing the gasometers). The old tanks now house apartments, shops and offices... Not to be missed!
