UN CITY
The UN deals with atomic energy, crime and drug control, industrial development and space issues.
The United Nations Office in Vienna is the result of Austria's neutrality. Established in 1980, UN-Cité is the organization's third center, technically outside Austrian territory. It employs 4,000 people and focuses on atomic energy, crime and drug control, industrial development and space issues. After a security check, the tour - guided only - is very interesting, with a film and an exhibition on the reasons for the site's location in Austria and the economic spin-offs for the country.
