The Dorotheum is Central Europe's most important auction house.

In a prestigious location, this is the most important auction house in Central Europe. Founded in 1707 by Emperor Joseph I, it is the world's oldest auction house, aka Aunt Dorothee. There is a branch in every district of Vienna, in every state of the country, in many European cities and even in Tokyo. The showroom is magnificent. The sales usually revolve around luxury goods, but not only, and it's always a great show. The Dorotheum, formerly majority-owned by the federal government, is now privatized.
