CASTLE GAZEBO
This hilltop edifice commemorates Maria Theresa's victory over Frederick II's Prussian armies.
Perched majestically on top of the hill, facing the castle, this building, erected in 1775 by Ferdinand of Hohenberg, commemorates the victory of Maria Theresa over the Prussian armies of Frederick II. A severe blow to the honour and misogyny of the Kaiser. Since 1996, this Gloriette has been home to a café in the best Viennese tradition. The magnificent view of the castle and the city is not the least of the pleasures of the place, especially in summer. On Sunday mornings you can enjoy the brunch with live music ranging from classical to jazz.
