The MQ is one of the largest cultural centers in the world! Inaugurated in 2001, it occupies 60,000m2 of rehabilitated former imperial court stables! A trendy, relaxed space to house the counterpart of contemporary art and modern culture to the heritage of Imperial Vienna. Close to the city center, the MuseumsQuartier is an original art complex of international stature. Renovated buildings from the Baroque era, including the former stables and imperial courtyard that structure the complex, are in harmony with the futuristic new buildings.
Vienna's MuseumsQuartier invites us to discover a wide variety of works, installations and performances by both well-known and little-known contemporary artists. These are presented in several independent spaces: the Leopold Museum, MUMOK and the ZOOM Kindermuseum (ZOOM Children's Museum). There's also the Architekturzentrum Wien (Vienna Architecture Center), the Dschungel Wien (Theater House), also for children, and various experimental spaces, including the Kunsthalle Wien for the most daring young contemporary artists. You can eat and drink in a number of pleasant spaces overlooking the courtyard or rising to the panoramic rooftops.

Rudolf and Elisabeth Leopold, the Leopold Museum has since become
in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier. Home to the most extensive collection
of Egon Schiele's works, it offers a unique insight into the creation of the great
painter and leading exponent of Austrian Expressionism.
He is another precursor of modern Austrian painting, represented alongside
represented alongside Gustav Klimt, the Secession's most eminent artistic personality
of the Secession. The Leopold Museum also exhibits paintings, prints and objects
and objects from the 19th and 20th centuries, including precious arts and crafts
