HELDENPLATZ
Heldenplatz is one of Vienna's most photogenic and photographed squares.
Overlooking the Ring, the magnificent Heroes' Square forms the junction between the Hofburg and the city. It was built by Emperor Franz Joseph I in the 19th century. For 150 years, this imperial forum was the venue for major public and political events. Hitler gave his Anschluss speech here in 1938. It is one of the most photogenic and photographed squares in Vienna. Here you can see two monumental statues, one of Archduke Charles and the other of Prince Eugene of Savoy. Beautiful perspective on the Hofburg.
