Mayerling Castle is a former hunting lodge located in Mayerling, a village in the municipality of Alland, southwest of Vienna, Austria. Today, it is home to a monastery of the Carmelite Order. Visitors can learn about the tragic history of the site, where Crown Prince Rudolf and Mary Vetsera died in 1889. A modern visitor center features an informative exhibition on Rudolf's life and the events of Mayerling. Visitors can also explore the gardens, chapel and exhibition rooms. Le Karmel Mayerling, situé dans la forêt viennoise est situé a environ 18 kilomètres de Vienne . Il est l'ancien pavillon de chasse (dans un Karmelitinnenkloster néoclassique reconstruit) du prince héritier Rodolphe.
Il était ici en 1889 le prince héritier seul fils de l' empereur François - Joseph Ier et Sissi, avec son amant agé seulement de 17 ans . La baronne Mary Vetsera est tragiquement morte.

Aujourd'hui Karmel Mayerling est un monastère vivant.transformé en un couvent des Carmélites.

On peut se promener dans le magnifique parc autour du monastere et de son Eglise .
