This abbey is home to the Holy Crown of Austria. Among its jewels, the abbey church and its frescoes, the monumental organ in primitive baroque style and the famous Verdun altar. This work, located in the Leopold Chapel, signed Nicolas de Verdun and completed in 1181, relates in 51 fire-gilded enamel panels the salvation history of the Old and New Testament. One can admire the medieval part of the abbey, the baroque imperial rooms and the sumptuous marble hall. The baroque wine cellars can be visited 36 m underground.
